Our History
North Georgia Legal was built to defend people when the stakes are high and the system moves fast.
The focus has always been the same. Protect rights. Protect driver’s licenses. Act before deadlines pass.
Early Practice
Focused Criminal and DUI Defense
North Georgia Legal was founded to represent people charged with DUI and other criminal offenses across North Georgia.
From the start, the work centered on careful preparation and being ready when a case had to be fought.
Expanded Focus
Driver’s License and CDL Protection
As DUI cases became more complex, the practice expanded to focus on driver’s license suspensions and CDL cases.
Protecting a person’s ability to drive and work became a central part of the defense.
Current Practice
DUI, License, and Asset Forfeiture Defense
Today, North Georgia Legal also handles asset seizure and forfeiture cases, where missed deadlines can lead to permanent loss of property.
These cases are handled alongside criminal defense to avoid conflicts and missed filings.
How Sam Approaches Every DUI Case
Sam believes strong defense work starts with preparation, strategy, and clear communication. From the beginning, his focus is on helping you understand what is happening and what matters most right now. He takes the time to review every piece of evidence. He questions how tests were given.
He explains each step so you are not left guessing or in the dark.
1
Preparation Comes First
The State’s evidence is examined closely. Weaknesses are identified early. Nothing is taken at face value.
This level of preparation creates options and protects against surprises later in the case.
2
Focused on What Is at Stake
Sam keeps your driver’s license, your record, and your future at the center of every decision. That includes understanding deadlines, weighing risks, and explaining the real consequences of each choice along the way.
This steady, detail-driven approach is why people across North Georgia trust Sam when the consequences are serious and the pressure is high.
The Experience Behind Your Defense
Since then, Sam has built a strong record in the courtroom. He has argued cases before judges and juries across Georgia, the United States District Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He typically tries about ten jury trials each year and has successfully argued dozens of contested motions with a high success rate.
Sam’s work includes complex and high-stakes cases, from federal wiretap litigation to public corruption trials. In one notable case, he helped secure a complete acquittal for a Georgia probate judge facing bribery charges brought by the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section. That outcome is rare against one of the toughest federal trial teams in the country. Today, Sam leads North Georgia Legal and focuses his work on defending DUI cases and protecting clients’ rights across Northeast Georgia.
